Inspired by the city lights and roads that are paved by the moon beam /
The creature of the night in his routine /
While the whole world sleeps I remain wide awake with eyes glued to a blue screen /
The window plays host to the infinite darkness /
Fractured by the light that escapes from apartments /
Can’t see an end, don’t recall when it started /
No partner, all alone /
I am one with this world, I am everything that’s known /
I am king to a land with a shadow for a home /
The blood inside it’s veins and the marrow in it's bones /
A single heart beat that puts the passion in it’s soul /
Silent, less the rain as it patters on the road /
Pouring puddles in the shallowest of holes /
A penny for my thoughts, collecting cash and gold /
I ride the wave of highs and drown in crashing lows.

Feel the world stop and come to a standstill /
Drop the anchors and dig through the landfill /
Expose the sore points, dispose of Advil /
And shape all the scrap on the point of an anvil /
Embrace the moment and finally feel alive /
In a world of sleeping heads when the entire planet’s mine /
That moment of serenity, that freeze frame in time /
